The Italian folklore-inspired soulslike, Enotria: The Last Song, has many unique aspects that make it stand out in a crowded genre. Not the least of these is the mask system. One of Enotria's core gameplay mechanics, this system lets players take on new abilities and appearances by acquiring masks.

All masks require some effort on the player's part to obtain, whether it's by beating bosses, farming enemies, or completing side quests. Not all masks are equally worth the effort, though, as some are far more powerful than others. This ranking highlights the best masks that players will want to aim for.

9 Gardener's Mask

The Mask also has an additional bonus. It lets players negate the first hit in a fight that would cause them fatal damage. The drawback is that it only works while awakened, but it gives an extra margin for error regardless.

6 Moretta's Mask

Additionally, some players will prefer the Mask of Change for melee builds, due to its damage buff and the fact that it is much easier to acquire.

3 Gondolier Mask

It's not too easy to obtain, as players need to get to the deepest parts of the Mines of Gratia. However, it's worth the effort of getting there and beating the boss.

The Guise of Zanni is a favorite Mask among the Enotria community. Its popularity is largely due to its passive buff, which grants three extra Armonia Amber uses when equipped. Zanni's Guise also gives players access to the Grand Celebration Mask Line, which is a powerful AOE slam that deals Vis damage. However, it's a very slow skill to cast, which makes it difficult to use effectively.

• How to get: Beat Pulcinella in the alternate ending

As would be expected from a mask that's only obtained from an optional boss in the game's alternate ending, the Guise of Pulcinella is incredibly powerful. It grants a large elemental power buff passively, making it the best-in-slot mask for elemental builds. Players also gain the Song of Change Mask Line when it's equipped.

The obvious drawback is that the mask can't be used in the first playthrough of Enotria: The Last Song. Players focusing on elemental builds will likely use something like Vermiglio's Mask or the Gondolier Mask when building towards this.
