“Most trampoline mats are made out of artificial fibers, like nylon or polyethylene,”says Aly Giampolo, founder and method director at the Ness, a danced-based, movement-focused fitness method in New York City. She adds that, although the materials themselves can vary, finding a surface that is heavily woven is key for a strong, supportive trampoline that's still soft enough to bounce comfortably on.

“The type of spring on the trampoline you purchase is one of the most important elements to consider,” Giampolo says.
